The PVC conduit pipe for use of electrical wiring in home is better or Steel conduit and why ?
USA You ask "in home". PVC conduit is acceptable and less expensive inside a home, where it is protected from physical damage. If it is inside a wall, make sure it is 1-1/4" behind the wallboard so the drywall screws cannot penetrate it. It is ok exposed on the surface of the wall in basements, attics, even the kitchen and living room, but not in the garage where an automobile could hit it. If used below 60" on agarage wall, schedule 80 PVC or metal conduit should be used. Steel conduit is good, and can be used almost anywhere, but it is more expensive than PVC.
