**Help - is this a good diamond ring?**?

Hi Guys,

I foudn a 1/2 ct princess cut channel ring. The price is $399 on a site similar to overstock.com Here are the details of teh ring... is this a quality ring.... pleae help. Is SI2 noticeably bad?

Usually people get nervous about clarity grades because they don't want to inclusion to be so big it's easy to notice, and they don't want the inclusion to lessen the sparkle of the diamond. But since you are looking at a channel setting, which blocks the light coming from the sides anyway, you probably aren't looking for a diamond that sparkles a lot.

Diamonds of SI2 (small inclusions) clarity grade have a small number of inclusions and blemishes. The inclusions might include carbon inclusions or fractures, and under 10X magnification some imperfections appear larger than a grain of salt. Some of the imperfections are visible with the unaided eye. So, yes, maybe you'll be able to see the inclusion. (I got this description off http://www.diamondpriceguru.com/.)
