Gray Smith AIA AICP Honored at Inglis Foundation’s “Building the Future” Banquet

On November 19, 2003, Gray Smith AIA AICP to received an award from the Inglis Foundation during its “Building the Future” program.  The annual awards were created to honor an individual and an organization that have excelled at helping those with physical disabilities become independent.  Along with Mr. Smith, the US Department of Housing and Urban Development was also honored.  Mr. Smith is a strong proponent of removing architectural barriers for people with disabilities and is a board member of the ADA & IT Mid-Atlantic Regional Information Center Advisory Board.  Mr. Smith has also worked with the Disabilities Law Project, the Barrier-Free Committee of the Mayor’s Commission on People with Disabilities in Philadelphia, Councilwoman Blackwell’s Visitability Taskforce, and other housing advisory groups.
