Gray Smith authored an article for the American Society
of Safety Engineers newsletter By Design
(2008, Vol. 7 No. 3), entitled "An Architect's Responsibility
for Safe Buildings Is Wide & Deep.

Fall 2007 ::
Gray Smith received a Community Design Award Honorable
Mention from the Community Design Collaborative
for a conceptual design library garden for the Friends of
the Santore Library for his volunteer work. Other
volunteers included: Hunter Landscape Design, Scott Chastain and
Sterling Johnson.

September 2007 ::
On September 14, Gray and his wife Roxanne Galeota
volunteered with the St. Bernard Foundation in Chalmette,
LA to help in the reconstruction of a Katrina-damaged house -
hanging sheetrock.

August 2007 ::
Gray was asked by Philadelphia Mayoral Candidate, Michael
Nutter to participate in his Zoning and Planning Policy
Committee.
:: June 2007 ::
Gray Smith's Office completed a statewide evaluation of 300
polling places for compliance with the Americans with
Disabilities Act (ADA) and the Help America Vote Act,
for the Delaware State Election Commission.

September 2006 ::
Gray attended the ICC International Building Code
Committee hearings in Orlando, FL as a Committee Member.
:: August 2006 ::
The Philadelphia Architect, August 2006 Issue,
"Beyond the Firm" by Megan
Mailey. Gray was interviewed for the article which talks
about Philadelphia architects doing more than just designing
buildings.
:: May 2006 ::
Gray has been appointed to 2 key International Code
Council Committees: the International Existing Building
Code Committee and the Electrical/Energy/Existing
Building/Property Maintenance/Zoning Code Interpretation
Committee. The appointments are for July 2006 through
December 2007. The Existing Building Code Committee
conducts national annual hearings on proposed changes to the
Code. The members of the Interpretation Committee are called upon to
provide official ICC interpretations of Code provisions.

Gray presented a talk on the new Construction Codes System in
Philadelphia, at the Lorman Education Conference:
Building Codes in Pennsylvania.

Gray Attended the Masters Program in Effective Expert
Testimony Techniques in Chicago. The program was
presented by SEAK, Inc.,

25th Anniversary Celebration. This was for his "many efforts
in supporting the work and mission of the SeniorLAW Center".

housing at Keepers of the Dream - a Summit Celebration of
the 26th Anniversary of the Fair Housing Act. Presented
