Any Ideas on HOW to throw a 1940s style DANCE CONTEST? Looking for 1940's- 1970's music and dance styles. Our reception is ANYTHING but traditional. We are having a USO 1940's style theme wedding reception (Oct 28), we thought the dance contest would be fun and unconventional! It would be a good way to change the music from all 40's during the meal to regular Oldies & Classic Rock (and eventually 80's- 90's music toward the end- but haven't figured out a seg-way for that yet- still looking for ideas, hint hint ) I am not sure exactly HOW to run the dance contest though- by era, dance style, tap out, pure exhaustion drop out? How do you judge this? The contest should be a fairly short part of the reception(20 min max.) but could make/break it! Of the 150 people ,we expect 15- 20 COUPLES to participate, age 25-55. Any Ideas? Thank you!!
